Become a SmartPrize Venue

Why be a SmartPrize Venue?

Being a SmartPrize Venue is a great way to bring attention to your business. Spectators from around the region will visit the various venues and vote for Crowd Favorite. As a SmartPrize Venue, you will be included on the SmartPrize Map and will draw potential customers into your space. In addition, your participation lets the public know that your venue supports innovation and is helping to invest in the future of the region. Attendees will also register for a raffle drawing at each venue.

Who can be a SmartPrize Venue?

Any space within the SmartPrize district that connects with an Exhibitor during the Registration period and pays the $100 participation fee is eligible to host a SmartPrize exhibit.

Venues may be:

  • Any size

  • Public or private spaces

  • Museums, parks, university facilities, retail shops, offices spaces, restaurants, cafes or non-profits

  • Window space

Venues must:

  • Be located within the SmartPrize district

  • Be open and accessible for at least the minimum required hours and free to the public, 10am-4pm Friday, April 13 and 10am - 4pm Saturday, April 14.

  • Meet federal, state, and Marquette city safety codes

The inclusion of your Venue is confirmed when you’ve connected with an Exhibitor and paid the $100 participation fee. If an Exhibitor has not agreed to exhibit in your space by the end of the Registration Period March 23, 2018, your Venue is not eligible to participate in SmartPrize this year.

Where is the SmartPrize District?

The SmartPrize district includes Marquette’s Downtown District: Washington Street from Front to Lincoln, Third Street from Fair to Baraga, and adjacent streets.

How can you become a SmartPrize Venue?

Step One:

Register and pay the $100 participation fee

Step Two:

Connect with an Exhibitor. You can connect with an Exhibitor on your own, or ask SmartPrize to take care of it for you.

Once the Registration Period ends March 23, you will be unable to participate for 2018.

Step Three:

Discuss Details and Confirm Agreement

When both you and the Exhibitor confirm mutual interest in working together, make sure you agree on specifics (where the display will be installed, when it will arrive, who installs it, etc.). You may wish to complete a Hosting Agreement to avoid any miscommunication.

If you are also registered for SmartPrize as an Exhibitor you may display your own work at your Venue provided you complete the standard registration process and pay all applicable fees.
